Six countries — and the two that aren't

Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Ecuador. Between them that's most of the well-trodden route: Rio and São Paulo, Buenos Aires, the Andes through Peru, and the long drop south into Patagonia.

Colombia and Bolivia are not on this plan. If either is in your plans, buy them as single-country plans and run them alongside this one. There is a broader supplier package that includes them, but it also sweeps in Central America and the Caribbean and gets sold as 'South America', which it isn't — so we haven't used it.

Built for the long overland trip

South America tends to be travelled slowly. That's why the 50 GB plan running 180 days matters more here than it does on a European city break — it covers a genuine six-month stretch on one eSIM, with no mid-trip admin.

For a three or four week trip the 10 GB at £33.99 is the sensible middle. Bus journeys are long and offline maps are your friend, so download before you leave the city rather than relying on signal in the mountains.

How much data for a South America trip

A fortnight split between two countries runs on 5 GB at £18.99. A month covering three or four wants 10 GB. Anything approaching a gap year is the 50 GB, which stays valid for 180 days.

One country only? Buy that country. Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru all have their own plans and each is cheaper on its own than this is.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Are Colombia and Bolivia included?+

No — neither is on this plan. Both are available as single-country plans and work perfectly well alongside this one on the same phone, so a route through them isn't a problem, it just needs two eSIMs.

How long does the biggest plan last?+

The 50 GB plan is valid for 180 days from first connection, which is the longest validity we sell on any regional plan. It's aimed squarely at long overland trips rather than short holidays.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
