Rogers coverage across a very large country
Your eSIM connects to Rogers on 5G. Canadian mobile coverage clusters along the southern corridor where almost the entire population lives — the Windsor–Quebec City strip, the Prairie cities, the Vancouver and Calgary areas and the Maritime centres are all well served.
Head north and it drops away quickly. This is a feature of Canadian geography rather than any particular network, and local SIMs face exactly the same limits.
National parks and the mountain drives
Banff and Jasper townsites have solid coverage, as does the Trans-Canada through the Bow Valley. The Icefields Parkway between them is famously patchy — spectacular, and largely without signal for long stretches. Backcountry trails have none.
Download your maps and any park passes before you drive it. This catches out a lot of first-time visitors who assume a road that busy must be covered.
Why an eSIM here in particular
Canada has some of the highest mobile roaming charges British travellers encounter, and daily-rate roaming bundles add up fast on a two-week trip. A 5 GB plan at £9.99 covers most fortnights outright. Road-trippers leaning on maps all day should take 10 GB.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Will I have signal in Banff and Jasper?+
In the townsites and along the Trans-Canada, yes. The Icefields Parkway connecting them has long stretches with no coverage from any network, and backcountry trails have none — download offline maps before you set out.
Does one plan cover both Vancouver and Toronto?+
Yes, it's a single nationwide plan. The same eSIM works coast to coast with nothing to swap when you fly or drive between provinces.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
