AT&T and Verizon, not a budget reseller
Your eSIM connects to AT&T and Verizon, both on 5G. These are two of the three national carriers, and the pairing matters more in the States than almost anywhere — Verizon has historically had the strongest rural and mountain-west coverage, AT&T the better reach across the south and the plains.
Every city, interstate and major tourist route is comfortably covered. Get off the highway in Nevada, Wyoming or Montana and it becomes a genuine consideration.
National parks are the real gap
This trips up more British visitors than anything else. Yellowstone, Zion, Death Valley, Big Bend and most of the Utah parks have very limited coverage away from the visitor centres and lodges — often none at all on the trails and scenic drives.
Download offline maps and your park reservations before you drive in. Cell service inside the parks is deliberately limited, and that's true for every network including a local one you might buy at the airport.
Choosing a plan for a US trip
A week in New York or Florida runs fine on 3 GB. A two-week road trip leaning on maps all day wants 10 GB at £9.99. A month-long coast-to-coast drive, or working while you travel, suits the 20 GB.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Does it cover Hawaii and Alaska?+
Yes, both are included in the USA plan at no extra cost. Coverage in Hawaii is good across the main islands; Alaska is well served around Anchorage, Fairbanks and the highway corridors, and sparse everywhere else.
Will I have signal in the national parks?+
Often not. Yellowstone, Zion, Death Valley and most of the Utah parks have very limited coverage away from visitor centres, and none on most trails. Download offline maps before you arrive — this affects local SIMs equally.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
