Install & setup

When should I install my eSIM?

Before you fly. Here's why, and what happens between installing and landing.

Install before you travel, while you're on reliable wifi. At home, the night before, at the departure gate — any of those beat trying to scan a QR code in arrivals with no connection.

Does installing start my plan?

For most plans, no — the clock starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not when you install it. Your plan's validity period is shown at checkout and in your account.

What happens between installing and landing?

Nothing — the eSIM sits dormant on your phone. Keep your mobile data set to your normal SIM until you arrive, and the FullBars eSIM won't use a byte.

When you land

  1. Switch mobile data to your FullBars eSIM.
  2. Make sure data roaming is ON for the eSIM.
  3. Give it a minute to find a network. Full bars.
