Armenia is mountainous and coverage follows the valleys. The Syunik region in the far south and the higher passes are thinner, though the road to Tatev holds up reasonably.
Monasteries, and getting to them
The reason most people come is the monasteries — Geghard cut into rock, Khor Virap under Ararat, Noravank at the end of a red-walled gorge, Tatev reached by the longest reversible cable car in the world.
Most are outside towns down roads with little signage, so maps do real work. Coverage at the sites themselves is generally reasonable, though Noravank's gorge and the deeper valleys dip.
How much data

Generally yes at the sites themselves, though gorges like Noravank's and the deeper valleys dip. The roads in often lack signage, so offline maps are worth having.
