Zain across the country

Your eSIM connects to Zain on 4G. Jordan is compact and the tourist route is well defined — Amman, Madaba, the Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba are all covered, as is the Desert Highway and the more scenic King's Highway.

The eastern desert toward the Iraqi and Saudi borders is largely empty and thinly covered.

Petra and Wadi Rum

Petra's visitor centre and the main Siq have coverage, and it holds for much of the site — useful given how large Petra is and how easy it is to lose your group between the Treasury and the Monastery, which is an 800-step climb apart.

Wadi Rum is different. The desert camps mostly have some signal, but the 4x4 routes out into the protected area drop it. Bedouin camp operators arrange everything by phone from the village, so confirm your pickup before you head into the desert.

How much data

The classic week-long Jordan loop runs comfortably on 3 GB at £7.99. A fortnight including diving in Aqaba wants 5 GB. Hotel Wi-Fi is standard throughout.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Is there coverage at Petra?+

Yes, across the visitor centre, the Siq and much of the site. Handy given the scale of the place — the Monastery is an 800-step climb from the Treasury and groups separate easily.

Will I have signal at a Wadi Rum desert camp?+

Most camps have some, but the 4x4 routes out into the protected area don't. Confirm your pickup and camp arrangements before heading into the desert.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
