Banglalink coverage

Your eSIM connects to Banglalink on 4G. Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries on earth, and network coverage follows that — Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna and Cox's Bazar are all well served, as are the highways between them.

The char islands in the delta and the deeper Sundarbans are where coverage stops.

The Sundarbans and the delta

The mangrove forest is the reason many visitors come, and it's reached by boat over several days. Coverage fades quickly once you're into the waterways — expect little to nothing beyond the first stretch out of Mongla.

River travel more generally is a big part of getting around Bangladesh, and the launches on the Dhaka–Barisal route drop in and out. Sort your onward arrangements before boarding.

How much data

A week in Dhaka and Sylhet runs on 3 GB. A fortnight including Cox's Bazar and a Sundarbans trip wants 5 GB at £6.99 — though you'll be out of coverage for a chunk of the mangrove leg regardless.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will I have signal in the Sundarbans?+

Barely. Coverage fades within the first stretch of the waterways out of Mongla and is largely absent deeper in. Plan to be offline for the boat legs of a mangrove trip.

Is registration required like for a local SIM?+

No. Biometric registration applies to SIMs bought inside Bangladesh. Your eSIM is issued before you travel and works on arrival with no paperwork.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.

Networks

Your eSIM hops onto the strongest of Bangladesh’s local networks automatically — no setup, no choosing.
