Vodafone across the main islands
Your eSIM connects to Vodafone Fiji on 4G. Nadi, Suva, Lautoka, the Coral Coast and Denarau are all well covered, as is most of Viti Levu's ring road.
The Mamanuca islands, close to the mainland, generally have coverage. The Yasawas further north are patchier, and the remote outer groups — the Lau islands, parts of Vanua Levu's interior — have little.
Notably cheap for the Pacific
At £2.99 a gigabyte, Fiji is dramatically better value than most of the Pacific. Samoa costs £24.99 for the same allowance and French Polynesia £20.99.
The difference is market size and competition — Fiji is the regional hub with a larger population and more infrastructure. If you're island-hopping the South Pacific, this is where your data budget gets a break.
Boats, and what to sort in advance
The Yasawa Flyer and the island transfer boats lose signal between islands, and resort transfers run to schedules that shift with the weather.
Confirm your transfers and accommodation before leaving Nadi or Denarau. Many island resorts have Wi-Fi, though it can be slow and occasionally chargeable. 5 GB at £12.99 covers a fortnight comfortably.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Is there coverage in the Yasawa islands?+
Patchier than on Viti Levu and the Mamanucas. The nearer islands generally hold signal; the further north you go, the less reliable it gets. Confirm transfers before you leave the mainland.
Why is Fiji so much cheaper than Samoa or Tahiti?+
Market size and competition. Fiji is the Pacific's regional hub with a larger population and more infrastructure, so wholesale rates are a fraction of what they are in smaller island nations.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
