Travel advice comes first
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Haiti. The security situation has been severe for several years, consular support is extremely limited, and standard travel insurance will not cover a trip made against that advice.
We list the destination because connectivity matters to the Haitian diaspora, to humanitarian organisations and to journalists. It is not a travel recommendation.
Digicel coverage
Your eSIM connects to Digicel on 4G. Port-au-Prince, Cap-Haïtien, Les Cayes and the main coastal roads have coverage.
Haiti shares Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic, and the two are entirely separate networks and separate plans. Service can be interrupted by power supply problems and infrastructure damage, which are common and not something any provider can work around.
Practical notes
Haiti is among our more expensive destinations at £12.99 a gigabyte, reflecting wholesale rates in a very difficult market.
Anyone travelling in a professional or humanitarian capacity will have organisational security and communications protocols. This should be supplementary to them and never the only means of contact.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Should I be travelling to Haiti?+
UK travel advice is against all travel, consular support is extremely limited and standard insurance won't cover you. Check the current FCDO position. We list the plan for the diaspora and for humanitarian and press work.
Does the Dominican Republic plan cover Haiti?+
No. They share the island of Hispaniola but run entirely separate networks and are separate plans here.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
Networks
Your eSIM hops onto the strongest of Haiti’s local networks automatically — no setup, no choosing.
