An honest word on price
Belize is one of our most expensive destinations per gigabyte. That's wholesale cost rather than our markup — a small market with limited competition produces high rates, and we'd rather explain it than let you discover it at checkout.
Practically, that means buy small and lean on Wi-Fi. Hotels, dive shops and restaurants on the cayes almost all have it, and it's generally adequate.
DigiCell coverage
Your eSIM connects to DigiCell on 4G. Belize City, San Ignacio, Placencia, San Pedro on Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker are all covered. The Hummingbird and Western highways hold signal.
The interior rainforest, the Mountain Pine Ridge and the smaller cayes are much thinner. Out on the reef and at the Blue Hole, expect nothing.
The cayes and the ruins
Caye Caulker and Ambergris are well covered in the settled areas. The water taxi between them and the mainland takes 45 minutes to an hour and drops signal in the middle.
Inland, the Mayan sites at Xunantunich, Caracol and Lamanai vary — Xunantunich is close to San Ignacio and covered, Caracol is deep in the forest reserve and is not. Cave tubing and the ATM cave have no coverage underground, which is rather the idea.

Why is Belize so expensive for data?+
Wholesale rates in a small market with little competition, rather than our markup. We price it as it comes and would rather tell you plainly — buy the smallest plan that works and lean on the widely available Wi-Fi.
Will I have signal on the cayes and the reef?+
On Caye Caulker and Ambergris in the settled areas, yes. On the water taxi you'll drop out mid-crossing, and out at the reef or the Blue Hole there's nothing at all.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
