An honest word on cost
Cape Verde is one of our most expensive destinations per gigabyte. It's a small archipelago market 600km off the West African coast with a single main operator, and wholesale rates reflect that.
Given most visitors stay in all-inclusive resorts on Sal or Boa Vista with Wi-Fi included, the honest advice is to buy the smallest plan that covers your excursions. Many people won't need one at all.
CVMOVEL across the islands

Santo Antão, the hiking island, has coverage in Porto Novo and Ribeira Grande and much less in the valleys where you'd actually be walking. Fogo's volcano crater is patchy.
Where it earns its keep
If you're resort-based on Sal, probably nowhere. If you're island-hopping by ferry or the domestic flights, it's worth having — schedules shift, the Santo Antão ferry from Mindelo is weather-dependent, and rearranging without a connection is awkward.

Do I need this if I'm in an all-inclusive on Sal?+
Possibly not. Resort Wi-Fi is standard and generally fine, and Cape Verde is expensive per gigabyte. Buy the smallest plan for your excursions, or skip it if you're not leaving the resort.
Is there coverage for hiking on Santo Antão?+
In Porto Novo and Ribeira Grande, yes. In the valleys where the walking actually is, much less. Download your routes before setting out.
How do I install it?+
