Orange coverage
Your eSIM connects to Orange Guinea on 4G. Conakry, Kindia, Labé, Kankan and Nzérékoré are covered, as are the main routes between them.
Guinea is mountainous in the centre and heavily forested in the southeast, and coverage drops away from the towns and roads.
The Fouta Djallon
The Fouta Djallon highlands are the reason most independent travellers come — a plateau of sandstone escarpments, waterfalls and hiking country, with the sources of the Niger, Senegal and Gambia rivers all rising within it.
Coverage in Labé and Dalaba is workable. The trekking routes between villages, and the descents to the falls at Ditinn and Kambadaga, largely have none. Guides are arranged locally and are worth having — the paths are unmarked and the escarpments are serious.
How much data
Guinea's roads are demanding and journeys take considerably longer than distances suggest, particularly in the rainy season when some routes become impassable.
3 GB at £18.99 covers a fortnight of the connected portions. Download offline maps before leaving Conakry.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Is there coverage in the Fouta Djallon?+
In Labé and Dalaba, workable. On the trekking routes between villages and down to the waterfalls, largely none. Take a local guide — the paths are unmarked and the escarpments are serious terrain.
How reliable is travel between towns?+
Slower than the map suggests. Guinea's roads are demanding and some routes become impassable in the rainy season. Download offline maps before you leave Conakry.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
