CTM and 3 across the SAR
Your eSIM connects to CTM and 3 Macao, both on 5G. Macao is tiny — around 33 square kilometres — and among the most densely populated territories on earth, so coverage is total.
The peninsula, Taipa, Coloane and the Cotai strip are all comprehensively served, as are the bridges linking them and the casino interiors.
Separate from Hong Kong and the mainland
Macao is its own Special Administrative Region with its own networks, and this plan covers Macao alone. The Hong Kong ferry, the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao bridge and the mainland border at Gongbei all take you out of coverage.
Most visitors combine Macao with Hong Kong. If that's you, either buy both plans or consider whether the trip justifies it — Macao is small enough that many day-trippers rely on hotel and casino Wi-Fi and never need mobile data at all. We'd rather say so than sell you something you won't use.
How much data
A day trip needs very little — 1 GB at £1.99 is more than enough. A long weekend across the peninsula and Cotai runs on the same. Only a longer stay with heavy tethering justifies moving up to 5 GB.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Does it cover Hong Kong too?+
No. Macao and Hong Kong are separate SARs with separate networks and separate plans. The ferry crossing and the bridge both take you out of Macao coverage.
Do I even need mobile data for a Macao day trip?+
Possibly not. Macao is small and hotel, casino and mall Wi-Fi is excellent. If you want live maps and messaging while walking between them, 1 GB at £1.99 covers it easily.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
