Travel advice comes first
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Mali. The security situation has deteriorated substantially over more than a decade, consular support is extremely limited, and standard travel insurance will not cover a journey made against that advice.
Timbuktu, Djenné and the Dogon country were once among West Africa's best-known destinations. They are not currently places for visitors, and we won't write about them as though they were.
Orange coverage
Your eSIM connects to Orange Mali on 4G. Bamako and the larger southern towns have coverage, along with the main roads in the populated south.
The centre and north of the country — the Niger bend, the Sahara, the regions where travel advice is most severe — have far less network and access is restricted in any case.

Should I be travelling to Mali?+

What plan sizes are available?+
Two only — 1 GB at £6.99 and 3 GB at £18.99. There are no larger tiers for Mali.
