Airtel across the inner islands
Your eSIM connects to Airtel on 4G. The three main inner islands — Mahé, Praslin and La Digue — are all well covered, including Victoria, Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Anse Source d'Argent.
Mahé is mountainous and signal dips behind the ridges on the less developed west side. The outer islands, including Aldabra and the Amirantes, are effectively without coverage.
Island-hopping and the ferries
The standard Seychelles trip splits time between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, connected by the Cat Cocos and Inter Island ferries. Crossings run 15 to 60 minutes and hold signal for most of them given how close the islands sit.
La Digue is largely car-free and everyone gets about by bicycle, which is one of the more pleasant reasons to have maps on your phone — the interior tracks are unsignposted.
How much data
Hotel Wi-Fi is standard, so buy for the days out. 1 GB at £5.99 covers a week; 3 GB at £15.99 gives room for a fortnight with photo uploads. Note that Mauritius is meaningfully cheaper if you're weighing up Indian Ocean options.

Does it cover Praslin and La Digue as well as Mahé?+
Yes, all three inner islands are on the same plan and well covered, as are the ferries between them. The outer islands like Aldabra effectively have no coverage.
Is data useful on La Digue if it's car-free?+
More so, arguably. You'll be cycling on unsignposted interior tracks to find the beaches, which is exactly when live maps help.
How do I install it?+
