Beeline across the Silk Road cities

Your eSIM connects to Beeline on 5G. Uzbekistan's tourist route is a fairly linear run between four cities, and all of them are well covered — Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva have solid signal throughout their old towns and monument complexes.

The Kyzylkum desert between Bukhara and Khiva is the emptiest stretch, and coverage thins along it.

The Afrosiyob and getting between cities

The high-speed Afrosiyob trains link Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara in a few hours and are the way most visitors travel. Trackside coverage is reasonable along the corridor, with gaps across the emptier sections.

The Bukhara to Khiva leg is the long one — six hours or more by road or rail across desert. Signal comes and goes. Worth downloading something to read, and worth confirming your Khiva accommodation before you set off.

How much data

The classic ten-day Silk Road loop runs comfortably on 3 GB, helped by widespread hotel Wi-Fi. A fortnight with heavy photo uploads wants 5 GB at £4.99. Uzbekistan is one of the better-value destinations on our list.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will I have signal on the train to Khiva?+

Intermittently. The Bukhara to Khiva leg crosses the Kyzylkum desert and takes six hours or more, with real gaps in coverage. Sort your onward arrangements before you board.

Is registration needed like for a local SIM?+

No. Local SIM purchases involve passport registration; your eSIM is issued before you travel and simply works when you land.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.

Networks

Your eSIM hops onto the strongest of Uzbekistan’s local networks automatically — no setup, no choosing.
