Airtel across the country
Your eSIM connects to Airtel on 4G. Lusaka, Livingstone, Ndola and Kitwe are covered, as are the main highways and the tourist areas around Victoria Falls.
Zambia is large and thinly populated, and coverage drops away quickly from the roads. South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi have signal at some camps and none across most of the parks.
Victoria Falls, and which side you're on
The falls sit on the border with Zimbabwe, and the two sides are separate countries with separate networks. Livingstone on the Zambian side is well covered by this plan.
Cross the bridge to Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe and you're outside it. Plenty of visitors do both in a day, so it's worth knowing where your data stops. The bridge itself, and the bungee jump off it, sit in an odd middle ground where your phone may pick up either.
Walking safaris and data sizing
South Luangwa is the birthplace of the walking safari, and being genuinely off-grid is part of it. Camps often have Wi-Fi at set hours and deliberately little else.
1 GB at £5.99 covers Livingstone and Lusaka for a week. There's no sense over-buying for the parks.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Does this cover the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls?+
No. Livingstone on the Zambian side is covered; crossing the bridge into Zimbabwe takes you outside this plan. Many visitors do both sides in a day, so it's worth planning for.
Will I have signal on safari in South Luangwa?+
At some camps, yes, often at set hours. Across most of the park, no. Walking safaris here are meant to be off-grid and the camps are set up accordingly.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
