A1 and Drei across the country

Your eSIM connects to A1 and Drei, both on 5G. A1 is the incumbent and has the widest reach into the Alpine valleys, which is what matters once you're past Salzburg.

Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Graz and the major ski regions are all well covered. The high Alpine passes and the remoter Tyrolean side valleys are thinner, though the resort areas themselves are generally strong.

Ski season and the practical case for data

Austrian resorts are large, interconnected and easy to get separated in. Live lift maps, resort apps and group messaging are the things you'll actually use, and they're all more useful than a piste map that blows away on the chairlift.

Coverage across the main ski areas — St Anton, Ischgl, Sölden, Kitzbühel — is good on the pistes and in the villages. Off the marked runs, expect gaps.

Picking a size

A city break in Vienna is comfortable on 1 GB at £1.00. A week's skiing with resort apps and photo uploads wants 3 GB. There's a 50 GB plan valid for 180 days if you ski Austria more than once a season.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it work on the pistes?+

In the main Austrian resorts, yes — the marked runs, lift stations and villages are well covered. Head off-piste or into the high back valleys and you'll lose signal, so don't rely on it as your only safety plan.

Does it cover the trains from Vienna to Salzburg?+

Yes. The ÖBB Westbahn corridor is well covered for almost its whole length, with only brief dropouts in tunnels.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
