Coverage along the coast and out to the islands
Your eSIM connects to Tele2 on 5G and A1 on 4G. The Dalmatian coast is well covered — Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Šibenik all have strong signal, as do the popular islands including Hvar, Brač and Korčula.
Ferry crossings hold up better than you'd expect, since the islands sit close to the mainland and to each other. The interior around Plitvice and the Velebit range is the patchier part, with gaps in the valleys.
Island-hopping without losing the ferry booking
Croatian island travel runs on catamaran timetables that shift with the season and the weather, and cancellations are announced online rather than shouted across the harbour. Having working data as you move between Split, Hvar and Korčula is the difference between catching the last boat and finding a room at short notice.
Croatia or a Europe plan?
If Croatia is your whole trip, the single-country plan is the cheaper option and starts at £1.00. If you're pairing it with Italy, Slovenia or a wider Balkans run, our Europe plan covers 40-plus countries on one eSIM and saves swapping at the border. Worth a look before you buy if the itinerary is still moving.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Will I have signal on the ferries between islands?+
Usually, yes. The Adriatic islands sit close to the mainland and to one another, so most crossings hold a connection, with the odd dip mid-channel on the longer routes to Vis or Lastovo.
Should I buy the Croatia plan or the Europe plan?+
If you're only visiting Croatia, the country plan is cheaper. If you're also taking in Italy, Slovenia or elsewhere in the region, the Europe plan covers 40-plus countries on one eSIM and works out better than buying several.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
