Epic and PrimeTel in the south

Your eSIM connects to Epic on 5G and PrimeTel on 4G. The Republic of Cyprus is well covered — Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Ayia Napa, Nicosia's southern side and the coastal roads all have strong signal.

The Troodos mountains hold up better than you'd expect, though the higher forest roads and the Akamas peninsula tracks have gaps.

Northern Cyprus is not covered — read this first

This is the single most important thing to know about a Cyprus eSIM, and it catches people out constantly. Northern Cyprus operates its own mobile networks, largely Turkish, and is not covered by a Republic of Cyprus plan.

If you cross the Green Line — to see Famagusta, Kyrenia, Bellapais or the northern beaches — your data will stop working. Phones in northern territory often pick up Turkish networks at full international roaming rates, which is where the bills come from. Turn data roaming off before you cross, use Wi-Fi in the north, and switch back on when you return.

Even in Nicosia this matters: the city is divided, and walking through the Ledra Street crossing takes you out of coverage in a few minutes on foot.

How much data

A week in Paphos or Ayia Napa with hotel Wi-Fi runs comfortably on 1 GB at £1.00. A fortnight touring the island with maps wants 3 GB. Longer stays suit the 5 GB at £3.99.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Does this cover Northern Cyprus?+

No. Northern Cyprus runs separate, largely Turkish networks that a Republic of Cyprus plan doesn't include. If you cross the Green Line your data will stop — and your phone may pick up Turkish roaming at full rates, so turn data roaming off before crossing.

What about Nicosia, since the city is divided?+

The southern side is covered normally. Walk through the Ledra Street crossing into the north and you leave coverage within minutes. It's worth switching data roaming off before you cross and back on when you return.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
