Helsinki, Turku, Tampere and the lake district are all strong. In Lapland, Rovaniemi, Levi, Saariselkä and the main resort areas are covered. The wilderness between them, and the national parks, are not.
Lapland, aurora and the sensible precautions
Most winter visitors come for the northern lights, huskies and Santa, all of which sit in reasonably well-covered areas around Rovaniemi and the resorts. Aurora forecast apps are the thing you'll refresh most, and they barely touch your allowance.
If you're heading into the national parks or out on a snowmobile safari, coverage stops quickly. Guided trips carry their own comms; independent ones should download maps and leave a plan with someone.
Choosing a plan
A weekend in Helsinki is comfortable on 1 GB at £1.00. A week in Lapland with aurora apps and photo uploads wants 3 GB. The 50 GB runs 180 days if you're making a season of it.

Will I have signal in Lapland?+
In Rovaniemi, Levi, Saariselkä and the resort areas, yes. Out in the national parks and the wilderness between them, no — that's true of Finnish networks too. Download offline maps for any independent trip.
Is it good enough for aurora forecast apps?+
Easily. Forecast and weather apps use very little data, so a 1 GB plan at £1.00 covers a long weekend of checking them every twenty minutes.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
