Orange, which is the one you'd pick anyway
Your eSIM runs on Orange France on 5G. If you were choosing a French network yourself, this is the one — it consistently comes top of the national regulator's own coverage and quality surveys, and its rural reach is the best in the country.
Paris, the Riviera, the Loire, Normandy and the Alps are all well covered, as is Corsica. The Massif Central and the deeper Pyrenean valleys are where you'll find gaps.
The Paris Métro and the TGV
The Métro has mobile coverage across the network now, so you'll keep signal between stations rather than losing it the moment the doors close. Useful when you're working out which line goes where at Châtelet.
TGV routes are a mixed picture. The trains move fast through a lot of empty countryside and coverage drops in and out — fine for messaging, less good for a video call you actually care about.
Picking a size
A long weekend in Paris sits comfortably on 1 GB. A fortnight driving through Provence and the Dordogne with constant navigation wants 5 GB at £4.99. Ski season in the Alps with daily uploads is a 10 GB job.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Is Corsica included?+
Yes. Corsica is covered by the France plan at no extra cost, on the same Orange network. The coastal towns and main roads are well served; the mountainous interior is patchier.
Will it work on the Paris Métro?+
Yes. The Métro has mobile coverage throughout, so you'll keep a connection in the tunnels and between stations rather than only at platforms.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
