This is our most expensive destination. Read this first.

Monaco costs £26.99 for a single gigabyte — by a wide margin the highest price on our entire list, and more than twenty-five times what the same allowance costs in France, which begins a few hundred metres away.

That's wholesale pricing from a single operator in a two-square-kilometre principality, not our markup. But we're not going to take your money quietly when there's a good chance you don't need this plan.

Why you may want the France plan instead

Monaco is roughly two square kilometres and entirely surrounded by France. Most visitors are staying in Nice, Menton or Èze and coming in for a day, or passing through on the coast road.

If that's you, a France plan at £1.99 covers the overwhelming majority of your trip. Whether your phone holds a French network while you're actually inside Monaco depends on where you are and which masts are strongest — we can't promise it will, and near the harbour and in the tunnels it may well not.

Buy this plan if you're staying in Monaco itself and need reliable data throughout. For a day trip from the French Riviera, the France plan is the sensible purchase.

Monaco Telecom coverage

Your eSIM connects to Monaco Telecom on 5G. The principality is dense, vertical and thoroughly covered — Monte Carlo, La Condamine, Fontvieille, the harbour and the tunnels all have strong signal.

During the Grand Prix the population multiplies and network congestion is real, as it is at any event of that density.

Questions, answered

Why is Monaco so expensive?+

A single operator in a two-square-kilometre principality, and wholesale rates to match. It's not our markup — it's simply what data costs there. A gigabyte in France, a few hundred metres away, is £1.99.

Could I just use a France plan instead?+

If you're staying in Nice or Menton and visiting for the day, quite possibly — France surrounds Monaco entirely. We can't promise your phone will hold a French network inside the principality, especially near the harbour and in the tunnels. Buy the Monaco plan if you're actually staying there.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
