Play and Orange coverage
Your eSIM connects to Play on 5G and Orange Polska on 4G. Poland's mobile network is better than its reputation suggests — the cities, the main roads and the tourist regions are comfortably covered.
Kraków, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław and the Baltic coast are all strong. The Bieszczady mountains in the far southeast and parts of the Masurian lake district are the thinner spots, and they're remote enough that you'd expect it.
Auschwitz, the Tatras and the day trips
Most Kraków visitors make the same two trips: Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka salt mine. Both have coverage at the surface. Wieliczka, being a mine, does not once you're down it — which is arguably the correct way to visit a salt mine anyway.
Zakopane and the Tatra foothills are well covered. The higher trails toward Morskie Oko and Rysy drop out, so download the route before you set off.
How much data to buy
A long weekend in Kraków sits comfortably on 1 GB at £1.00. A week taking in several cities by train wants 3 GB. There's a 50 GB plan valid for 180 days if you're back and forth to Poland regularly.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Will it work on the trains between Kraków and Warsaw?+
Yes. The main PKP Intercity corridor is well covered for almost its full length, with only short dropouts. Fine for messaging and browsing throughout.
How is coverage in the Tatra mountains?+
Good in Zakopane and the foothills, patchy on the higher trails. Routes up to Morskie Oko and beyond lose signal in the valleys — download offline maps before you start walking.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
