Three networks across a long country
Your eSIM can use Telia, Telenor and Tre, all on 5G. Sweden stretches roughly the distance from London to Naples, and having three networks helps as you go north.
Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and the populated south are exceptionally well covered. The Norrland interior and the mountains along the Norwegian border are sparse — that's geography, not the network, and it applies to Swedish SIMs equally.
The archipelago and the far north
The Stockholm archipelago has decent coverage across the inner and middle islands, thinning as you head out toward the outer skerries. The ferries hold signal for most routes.
Up in Lapland, Kiruna, Abisko and the Icehotel area are covered. Step onto the Kungsleden trail or out into the fells and you're on your own, which is rather the appeal. Download offline maps and tell someone your route — standard practice up there regardless of network.
How much data to take
A weekend in Stockholm sits fine on 1 GB at £1.00. A week including the archipelago and a couple of cities wants 3 GB. An aurora trip to Abisko with photo uploads suits the 5 GB at £3.99.
Good to know
Questions, answered
Will I have signal in Swedish Lapland?+
In Kiruna, Abisko and the towns, yes. Out on the Kungsleden trail or in the fells, no — the interior is genuinely remote and no network covers it. Download maps and share your route before setting off.
Does it work in the Stockholm archipelago?+
Across the inner and middle islands, yes, and on most ferry routes. Coverage thins as you head out toward the outer skerries.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
