Türk Telekom coverage
Your eSIM runs on Türk Telekom and its Aycell brand, both on 5G. Turkey has invested heavily in mobile infrastructure and it shows — Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, the entire Aegean and Mediterranean coast and the Cappadocia region are all well covered.
Eastern Anatolia and the mountainous southeast are thinner, though the main highways hold up. For the routes most visitors take, you'll rarely think about it.
Cappadocia, balloons and early starts
Balloon flights leave before dawn from fields outside Göreme, and pickup arrangements have a habit of changing at the last minute. Having working data at 4am, when you're standing outside a cave hotel wondering whether the minibus is coming, is worth the price of the plan on its own.
Coverage across the Göreme, Ürgüp and Uçhisar area is good, including from the air once you're up.
How much data to buy

Do I need to register the eSIM with Turkish authorities?+
No. Registration requirements apply to SIM cards bought inside Turkey. Your eSIM is issued before you travel and roams on Türk Telekom, so there's no paperwork and no counter to visit.
