Travel advice, and who this page is for
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Ukraine. Standard travel insurance will not cover a journey made against that advice, and the security situation varies by region and changes without warning.
We list this destination because connectivity matters enormously to people with family in Ukraine, to humanitarian and reconstruction staff, to journalists, and to volunteers. This page is written for them, not as a travel suggestion.
Three networks
Your eSIM connects to Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell on 4G. Ukraine's operators have worked hard to maintain service through extremely difficult conditions, and coverage across government-controlled areas remains broadly functional.
That said, power outages affect base stations, and infrastructure damage causes local and regional interruptions. Availability in a given place at a given time cannot be guaranteed by us or anyone else.
Practical notes
Having a connection that doesn't depend on a local SIM can matter when crossing borders or moving between regions, which is a large part of why people buy this.
Plans start at 1 GB for £1.00, among the lowest prices on our list. Anyone travelling in a professional capacity should follow their organisation's security protocols, and treat any single communications method as insufficient on its own.
Good to know
Questions, answered
What is the current travel advice?+
The FCDO advises against all travel to Ukraine, and standard insurance won't cover a trip made against it. The situation varies by region and changes without warning — check the current guidance directly rather than relying on anything written here.
How reliable is the network?+
Ukrainian operators have maintained service through very difficult conditions and coverage in government-controlled areas is broadly functional. Power outages and infrastructure damage do cause interruptions, so never rely on a single means of communication.
How do I install it?+
After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.
Will it work on my phone?+
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.
When does my plan start?+
Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.
Can I keep using my normal number?+
Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
