Claro across the populated east

Your eSIM connects to Claro on 4G. Paraguay divides sharply in two: the eastern region, where nearly everyone lives, and the Chaco to the west, where almost nobody does.

Asunción, Ciudad del Este, Encarnación and the roads between them are well covered. The Jesuit mission ruins at Trinidad and Jesús are covered too.

The Chaco

The Paraguayan Chaco is a vast dry scrubland covering more than half the country and holding a small fraction of its population. Coverage exists around Filadelfia and the Mennonite colonies and very little elsewhere.

The Trans-Chaco road toward Bolivia is a long, hot drive with immense gaps between anything at all, mobile signal included. It's not a casual trip and shouldn't be treated as one.

How much data

A week in Asunción and the south runs on 1 GB at £2.99. A fortnight including Ciudad del Este and the Iguazú crossing wants 3 GB. Note the falls themselves sit on the Argentine and Brazilian sides, which need their own plans.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will I have signal in the Chaco?+

Around Filadelfia and the Mennonite colonies, patchily. Across most of the Trans-Chaco route, no. It's a serious drive through empty country and shouldn't be attempted casually.

Does it cover Iguazú Falls?+

No. Ciudad del Este on the Paraguayan side is covered, but the falls themselves are on the Argentine and Brazilian sides of the border and need those plans.

How do I install it?+

After checkout we email your eSIM and a QR code. Scan it in your phone's settings, switch the line on, and you're ready — do it before you fly and it activates when you land.

Will it work on my phone?+

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM (iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung/Pixel). Check your phone in Settings, or use our compatibility checker.

When does my plan start?+

Validity counts from first connection in the destination, not from purchase — so you can buy and install early without wasting days.

Can I keep using my normal number?+

Yes. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside your usual SIM, so calls and texts on your main number still work.
