The classic Suriname trip heads up the Upper Suriname river to stay in Saramaccan villages, or into the Central Suriname Nature Reserve. Both are effectively offline.
Lodges arrange transport and supplies by boat on fixed schedules. Confirm your return before you go upriver — the boats don't run on demand and there's no way to rearrange from a hammock in Palumeu.
How much data
1 GB at £6.99 covers Paramaribo and the coastal areas for a week comfortably. A longer stay based in the capital wants 3 GB. Interior legs are offline whatever you buy, so there's little point sizing up for them.

Will I have signal upriver or at a jungle lodge?+
Generally not. The Upper Suriname river villages and the nature reserves are effectively offline. Confirm your return boat before heading up — schedules are fixed and can't be changed from there.
Is Paramaribo well covered?+
Yes. The capital and the coastal districts have solid Digicel coverage, and that's where most of the country's population and infrastructure sit.
How do I install it?+
