Colonia, the ferry, and the Argentine question
Colonia del Sacramento sits directly across the River Plate from Buenos Aires, and the ferry is a common day trip in both directions. It takes about an hour.
Your Uruguay plan covers the Uruguayan side only. Mid-river you may pick up Argentine networks, and Buenos Aires certainly will. If you're combining the two countries — and most visitors do — you'll want an Argentina plan as well.
How much data
A week covering Montevideo and Colonia runs on 1 GB at £3.99. A fortnight including Punta del Este and the coast wants 3 GB. Uruguay has widespread free Wi-Fi in public spaces, so many visitors use less than planned.

Does it cover the ferry to Buenos Aires?+
Only the Uruguayan leg. Mid-river you may pick up Argentine networks, and Buenos Aires isn't covered by this plan. If you're doing both countries, add an Argentina plan.
Is coverage good along the Atlantic coast?+
Yes. The coast road from Montevideo through Piriápolis and Punta del Este up toward Rocha is well covered, including the beach resorts.
How do I install it?+
